Possibly.You need to ask your insurance people just to be sure.I know also,you may want this certain kind of insurance that covers you if your dog attacks someone because some wolf hybrids are a little more aggressive than normal dogs.Be warned because if you do,it doesn't cover all dogs.The person that had it told me that their dog insurance or whatever it is called didn't cover Pit Bulls,Doberman Pincers,Rottweilers,and I think German Shepard Dogs.If you want that insurance,check if it covers less than 75% wolf hybrids.But,if you want to know if a 75% or less wolf hybrid will rase your costs on your home insurance,check with your insurance componey.

First of all, why would you purchase a wolf dog? What are your reasons? I know you may get on the defence here and not wan tot disclose that info, but ask YOURSELF this very question. If you don’t know what to ask yourself, have a read: http://www.wolfhaven.org/think_again.php

Wolf dogs are not illegal in Florida, no matter what the content. You require a Class II Wildlife Permit to harbour any wolf dog that is over 75% (see below). [This law should be revised, as percentages are completely inaccurate to determine content of wolf].

State Regulations for Florida for wolf dogs are as follows:
"Pure wolves and hybrids which are 25% or less domestic dog require a $100 permit per year unless exempted as a researcher." Provisions include owner "demonstrates no less than one year of substantial practical experience (to consist of no less than 100 hours) plus successfully complete a written examination on the care, feeding, handling and husbandry of the species for which the permit is sought, or other species, within the same biological family … which are substantially similar in size, characteristics, care and nutritional requirements to the species for which the permit is sought," is able to provide a proper diet, health care and exercise, caging meets minimum specifications and that the neighborhood setting is appropriate." There are yard, containment, housing and care requirements. Those animals that are 75% or more wolf must be permitted as Class II wildlife."

As far as home insurance is concerned, your best bet is to call around. All insurance companies are different.

You should also contact your local ASPCA or Animal Control to ask about liability insurance if you plan on keeping a wolf dog. There are some states that require million dollar liability insurance (completely separate from home insurance) and $500 licensing fee p/yr (separate from a permit) if you have a dog that has any (known) wolf content in it.

before you undertake this "breed", i have to ask, do you have ANY experience with large breed anything? are there kids? do you have a LARGE fenced area?
i have a 75 % mix. he HATES to be in.
since being teased by neighborhood kids, i can no longer trust him around small kids. and actually had to move to TN so i could live somewhere with no close neighbors and NO kids whatsoever.
they DON’T housetrain hardly at all. they gotta go, they go. with almost no warning.
they DON’T train like a dog. very stubborn. and the training technique is so very different then that for a dog.
i only agreed to take Zeus because i’d been rescuing large abused dogs for years and he was going to be put down because the owners were completely unprepared for his behaviors.
i’m going to star you for Nekai. she’s been doing wolf rescue for over 20 yrs. please heed her advice.

mbrcatz is correct. most of the time if your quote is high and you do not have any prior claims it is because of the credit score. to get a better rate you may want to call around to some local agencies and ask them if they have any companies that do not run credit. that should help. however, a lot of these companies are not as reputable. it is really up to you. if you just care about price then try that. if you want a good company expect to pay a little more. if something happens and then it of course will have been worth it. another option that you should consider is checking if there is a multi-policy discount you can get for having your auto insurance with that same carrier. often these discounts are 15-25%, which could mean saving a few hundred a month and ALSO giving you the same discount (multi-policy) on your auto insurance for carrying your home there. i would not recommend raising your deductible above 1% unless you always have that amount of money saved. as far as the dogs and guns go most of the time they ask those questions so they know whether to endorse or exclude those coverages. many companies do not offer coverage on a house that has certain breeds of dogs. if you do not have an "aggressive breed" of dog then there is no need to worry about it.

Where are you located? I have an insurance brokerage listing who you can contact, depending on the state, and let them do all the research, to find you the best deal. I used the # and it saved me a few hundred dollars.

It definitely can. We have Dobermans and it was near impossoble to find someone to insure us. They either denied us outright or the rates were through the roof. We finally found a State Farm agent that got us a reasonable rate but it took a lot of calling around. Dog breed does have a lot to do with it. Insurance companies have lists of dogs they consider to be potentially dangerous and they reserve the right to refuse you coverage or charge more if you own one of those breeds. I don't know about a wolf mix, but I know it was really hard to find decent coverage with my dogs.
